Changes to freight charges

We'd like to let you know about some changes we are making to the way we recover freight costs on customer orders. With global economic factors having an impact on our schools and early childcare customers, we understand that this is a challenging time, and we're committed to minimising this impact as much as we possibly can. MTA has always subsidised freight costs for all customers, and we will continue to do this, however, we can no longer offer free freight for orders over $299. We will continue to monitor freight costs and will always seek to offer the best value possible for customers.


Q: How do I know what my freight costs will be?

A: Freight costs are calculated and shown at your shopping cart.

Q: How are my freight costs calculated?

A: Our standard freight rates are based on order size and are listed below. Heavy items, and those sent to Remote or Regional locations may incur additional charges.

Q: What happens if I have large or heavy items?

A: To assist with these orders (such as furniture), we've introduced a Heavy & Oversize Items Capped Fee. This is set at a maximum of NZD$100 regardless of the number of heavy or oversize items in your cart.

Q: Will I still pay a Temporary Freight Surcharge Fee?

A: No, we have removed the 1.65% Temporary Freight Surcharge from all orders.

Q: My school is in a rural area? How am I affected by freight costs?

A: For regional and remote customers, we will further subsidise costs to minimise impact in these areas.
